Japanese Noh Drama Art

               Japanese Noh drama is one of the oldest forms of drama and is associated with Mahayana Buddhism

.                 Due to its connection to Buddhism, the Japanese play Noh is performed in association with Buddhist monasteries.However, there are several theories about the origins of Noh drama.

* In a sermon by the Buddha, the play Noh was born in India

* The play of Noh is said to have begun in the world of God

*  That it began during the reign of Empress Zoe Ko

             noh uses very beautiful masks in the art of drama.They are colored according to the nature of the characters.

           Also the stage where the noh play was presented was of a very elegant nature

                noh drama is still practiced in Japan today, with three popular plays being Do jo ji, Su mi da ga wa, ath so morry ath yi kuthay etc.
