Sigiriya

                          It is located in the Anuradhapura District of the North Central Province.

                          The history of Ceylon states that King Dhatusena's son Prince Kasapa killed his father and made Sigiriya his administrative center.


Archaeologists say that Sigiriya was built as a fortress


              According to Sri Lankans, Sigiriya was first built by King Kuvera.According to the Mahavamsa, King Kasapa lived in Alakamanda as a Kuvera.

     Beautiful and ancient paintings can be seen in the Sigiriya rock


             The colors used to draw these paintings are naturally derived


       Today, this ancient city has become the eighth wonder of the world.
