suniyam The story of God

 Lankans call him suniyam yakshaya, oddissa yakshaya, suniyam dewiyan and gambara dewiyan.

           He was born to the king of the wadiga land and the queen of ywdagiri. When he was a child, sages said that he was a demon who would kill people in the future.Is this why the king decides to kill the little prince?  Eventually the king felt sorry for the little prince and canceled the decision.

Time passed quickly.  The little oddissa prince became a young man of sixteen.   One day, the prince was walking in the jungle.

It is said that he caught snakes in the forest and drank poison and became a demon .  

He then killed the king of wadiga as a terrible demon, destroyed the land of wadiga and destroyed the city of wisala maha nuwara.Due to his statement, the Rishis have said that the devil is trapped in a book.

The Rishis throw the book into the sea and dump it on the shores of Sri Lanka.Eventually a gang of thieves opens the book and the devil comes back out and destroys the villages and kills people.

After this incident a very good person Raja Padma Mudiyanse says this to the god paththini.Knowing this, Goddess Pattini catches the devil with difficulty.  He then ties him with ropes and tames the devil.

The place where this demon is imprisoned is called Kabalawa and today its suniyam temple is located today
