Folk dramas in Sri Lanka

 This includes drama species that have been around for a long time among Sri Lankans.

                    These are especially associated with local dance and there are four popular folk dramas in Sri Lanka.

   *Kolam plays performed in Galle, Matara, Benthara, Seenigama and Weligama                           

        



* A popular drama in Sri Lanka with a Tamil influence.



These are very popular folk dramas among the people of Sri Lanka and are now being phased out.

                      Folk dramas can be used to identify the traditional singing, playing and dancing of Sri Lanka.
